Maybe the player has higher potentials (Or lower) Maybe the players has higher or lower current ratings, maybe they are not fully developed, maybe your scout is wrong? Throwing an 18 year old into the ML because you think he's ready usually doesn't work out very well in my experience. He could possibly do well, but the chances are you are not seeing a totally accurate version of the player at that age! Using CC Sabathia as an example because that is the screen shots we are using as a reference at this point, He Pitched a Full Season IRL at the ML level in 2001 going 17-5. That means he only had basically 2 full seasons in the minors IRL (The RL Draft at that point was held in June 1998, not Dec 1997) So yes you are getting him 6 months early and yes he could get that 3rd full season in the minors, so the chances are he will be ready a little sooner. and YES players in OOTP tend to come in earlier than RL because of that reason. But it is usually only by a season unless you are just throwing guys into the ML because their ratings you see suggest he's ready, and has already been mentioned, scouting is not an exact science and "Maybe your scout is wrong" Minor league seasoning for young players is always a good idea, I would rather leave a guy in the minors a little too long than call him up too soon.

And I appreciate the offer to post more screen shots, but I assure you I am quite aware of the phenomena that you are experiencing, I have been running online Historical leagues for well over 5 years. You just need to realize the limitations of the game and live within that realm by resisting the urge to throw guy into the ML too soon Because the ratings suggest he's ready at 18. But then again, seeing a few guys get pounded at a young age will defiantly help you resist the urge in the future, It did for me
