Colts Farm Director Eddie Robinson
One more before I turn in for the night - and apologies if this is in the wrong thread, but it's from the Kirksey papers at UH, as are the last two, so I thought it'd be fine to include.
Here's famous Eddie Robinson, in a Houston Colt .45s uniform! Apparently, Robinson was the Farm Director for the ballclub, something I never knew until stumbling across these images.
Cope, for what it's worth, is a bit of a mystery. He isn't on the 1963 San Antonio roster (so maybe this was '63 Spring Training, as the Bullets were a Cubs affiliate in '62), and while there was a James Cope who was active in the minors from '63-'64, he's listed with Bluefield in '63, a Baltimore affiliate. In '64, he spent time with the Statesville Colts, managed by Dave Philley. B-R doesn't list an affiliation for them, but I think it's safe to say it was probably Houston.
Alright, well I should've turned in around an hour ago. I'll share some more tomorrow.
