Post-Race Analysis: 2017 Belgium GP(10/16)
That was a good race, but a bit of a bummer. We were right behind Chapman on track before the first pit stop, but our calculation was rubbish. We had Vidal to exit the pits in front of Woodford, instead, he exited behind, and we had to wave him through first... and that cost is invaluable seconds in the battle with Chapman.
Second mistake.... and that is really on me... Vidal had only five sets of super soft. 1 for free practice, two for qualifying... trying a 2 stopper with three sets of super softs... I messed that up. We will have to change the allocation of tyres going forward.
Now Jeremy... he is exactly where Iker was at the start of the season, which, given that we have to be conservative on his car with the weight stripping, is a compliment.
Development Report:
The first of the two new gearboxes should be ready in four days and for the US Grand Prix, and we will be able to put in some more factory work in the next 17 days to make it a beauty... hopefully.
