Harrah got the Rangers on the board in the top of the first with a sacrifice fly. Biittner then continued to torture the Indians as he followed up with a 2-run homer.
The Indians loaded the bases with one out in the bottom of the first. Davis got an RBI on a ground ball out. Chambliss then tied the game with a 2-run single.
In the bottom of the third, Billings threw out Johnson trying to steal third for his 10th caught stealer on the season. Davis then gave the Indians the lead with an RBI double.
After three: Cleveland 4 Texas 3.
In the top of the fourth, the Rangers loaded the bases with two out but Maddox popped out to retire the side.
Lowenstein helped the Indians increase their lead in the bottom of the fourth with a sacrifice fly for an RBI.
Wilcox began the top of the fifth by striking out Burroughs for his 40th K of the season. With a runner on first and two out, the Indians made a pitching change and brought in Dick Baney.
After six: Cleveland 5 Texas 3.
Burroughs struck out again in the top of the seventh as he has slumped down to batting below .300.
