TU STARS WINS 6TH STRAIGHT ALL-STAR GAME
It was close and hard-fought and not decided until the last out of the game, but the Tycobbian All-Stars still continued their dominance in the 55th IPA All-Star Classic, winning for the sixth straight time... the TU Stars edged the RU Stars 4-3 at Joe Wolf Stadiun in Midway with SS Vincent McCloud (Denton City) driving in the decisive run in the 5th frame... McCloud singled in CF Dwayne Wagner (Oxford) from third base to wrap up Tycobbia's 37th triumph in 55 games... Tycobbia pitching blanked Ruthlandia the final six innings... the All-Star Most Valuable Player Award, however, went to Callum Slattery (Glasco), who collected two hits, drove in two runs and scored two... Slattery homered in the first inning to give the RU Stars a short-lived advantage... Tycobbia came back in the bottom of the 1st and tied the score on an RBI single by Dwayne Wagner and a bases-loaded walk to 1B Russell Taylor (Arroyo Grande)... both runs came off losing pitcher Primo Sirak (Valmara)... RF Daryl Vale (Midway) put the TU Stars ahead 3-2 in the last of the 2nd frame when he singled in 2B Kuzuki Tamura (Ginza) from third base... Slattery's triple and 2B Steven Hornblower's (Fort Benton) sac fly evened it up again in the top of the 3rd... Tycobbia outhit Ruthlandia 10 to 8... Benny Allen (East Point) worked a scoreless 5th to garner the victory.
