I would be more interested in seeing them play another kinda 10th-ish ranked team in a New Year's Day bowl. They seems about right to me. That can have a great season without being included in the playoff. Just my opinion though.
I also think basketball and football comparisons are false narratives. Basketball is completely different; 1-2 really good players can make you a really good team on both sides of the ball. There is no one or two good players in football that can instantly make you 12-0. Even a really good QB only takes you so far. Harder for the small guy to compete.

It's not about what people want to see. It's not about assumptions or supposes. It's about the fact that more than half of div 1 starts the season with absolutely no way to earn the championship. There is no other team sport on the planet that automatically excludes any percentage of the teams @ their level from winning the title even when they win every game. The NCAA football "championship" is still a beauty contest. It is not earned on the field. If everyone of the Power 5 conferences had an unbeaten champion, someone is getting left out. As it stands now, Wisky is on the outside looking in. And if Miami were to lose a tight game vs Clemson, there is no guarantee the Badgers would move up.
UCF is currently behind EIGHT two loss teams. Really?? Among the 10 teams between the Knights & the final 4, there are 6 losses by 3 or more scores. Their average loss has been by a 37-22 score. UCF's avg win is 49-21. How could
ten teams, with 16 total "L's", have actually
earned a higher spot?
I said this before on this forum and I'll say it again: Winning has become underrated in sports. Any system, whether individual, team, organization; that doesn't allow an opportunity to work their way to the top is a flawed system that should be abolished. Any system that gives unearned breaks to an individual, team or organization simply because of their name or who they know or are is a flawed system that should be abolished.
