TOP STATS LEADERS IN RU
The Islandian Pro Alliance announced all the Ruthlandian Union and Tycobbian Union statistical leaders for the year 2055.
Young 23-year-old first baseman Enos Benham of the Wynnamac Sundowners captured his second straight Ruthlandian batting title, edging out third baseman Steven Hornblower of the Fort Benton Defenders by two points, .354 to .352... the power leader was outfielder Lenny Buisson of the Taranto Tars with 32 homers... Buisson has topped the league four times in his career ( '48, '52, '53)... outfielder Trip Agarn of the Middlefield Roosters took two categories, driving in 125 runs and scoring 105... leading in stolen bases was outfielder Teddy Keyes of Fort Benton.
On the mound James Long of Middlefield was the most prolific winner with a 25-8 mark... he also posted the most wins in 2052... Ralph Hawk of Ranford has the best ERA at 2.20, his third ERA title, winning also in '49 and '51... Fort Benton's Zeke Yoder stuck out 257 batters... this was his first title after coming in second the previous two seasons... in saves Sid Edwards of Far Mountains was the top reliefman with 34.
