Well, you've come to the right place to get a bunch of people tell you how studly he is and will be in MLB.

I got blasted by people with OOTP scouting experience and "baseball blogging experience" for pointing out basic real life baseball facts the last time this subject came up in the game section of the forum.

Needless to say, based upon my experience, I am highly skeptical of the anticipated translation of his clearly substantial skills to an MLB level with similar success, especially if he truly intends on both pitching and playing a position between starts.

He has considerable talent. But he's not the baseball god people have lionized.... Which is certainly not his fault. I hope he's great. I think he'll be good if he hits only. Maybe a 5.

Playing a position on days not pitching IMO would be a mistake.

If he pitches only, I think he can be a #2 or possibly #1 starter. Like a 6-7 rating. Some people would say an 8, but nobody will write that on a report I'd bet.

As a hitter, I'd say he's got ability to develop MLB 25-30 HR power but to do that, he'll probably strike out 160-180 times (which in today's game, is apparently no big deal)

If he tries to both pitch and play a position, those numbers go down significantly, in my guess.

I have actually seen him play a couple of times in person for what it's worth.

Bear in mind, I haven't written an actual scouting report for money in forever.
