I think the only way to avoid this is to start the league in 1871 and sim until the year you want to play. Then at the start of the preseason you delete the stats and history and run an inaugural draft. If you want to start the season with real rosters you’d probably have to do it manually.

Oh, okay I understand that now. So start in 1871 and sim till actual start year and reset everything. Thanks! That should work; I’ll try that next time. Although starting in 1905 hasn’t been too bad. As of 07 there’s been about a handful of vet-rookies who I’ve just deleted. Really only one or two that played much after 05.

From what I understand, in order for us to be able to erase stats and start fresh again, Markus would have to add an option to the game that allows us to decide if we want a player that missed a season to return or stay absent.

It’s possible to erase the entire stats of all players at any time. The problem is when a guy comes in who missed the season you started on.
