The constant losing took its toll. My calls home became less frequent. The underage illegal consumption of alcohol became more frequent. Especially on the weekend the Reno Padres were the team with four days off.
We went and watched the movie Teen Wolf. It was okay. Kind of cute I guess. Should have gone and watched something where stuff got blown up. I might have felt better then.
On August 24, it was like deja vu all over again. Except this time, the game was in Reno. The opponent was the San Jose Bees. Their pitcher was Kazuaki Kawamura.
I walked the first two batters of the game.
Oh yeah. This is going to be great.
After five men had come to the plate, I had 4 walks and a strikeout. Another strikeout and maybe I could get out of the innning.
Then I made the mistake.
I shook off Sandy calling for a change up. I threw the fastball.
CRACK!!!!
Oh son of a....
Sandy just glared at me as 1, 2, 3 and 4 men crossed the plate.
"I know. I know. I know."
Incredibly I went 8 innnings. Not so incredibly I allowed 9 runs. Well, one of them was unearned. 8 hits and 7 walks. 4 strikeouts.
Can this season please just end!
