2055 IPA Pro Cup Series - Game 1

MACS NIP RASCALS IN PRO CUP OPENER
Everything went right in the Pro Cup opener at Granger Park in Wynnamac... the Sundowners got solid work on the hill from ace left-hander Sammy Hayes, Whiz Ivie scored three runs and the Macs nipped White River 4-3... Hayes (2-2/5.28) did his job, working into the seventh, permitted only two runs on five hits to even his postseason mark at 2-2 this year... Tike Collazo (1-1/3.29/3 saves/7 G) made his 7th playoff appearance and notched his third save, but he struggled to hold off the Rascals... they got to him for one run and two hits in his two and one-third innings... after a rough 8th, Collazo settled down in the 9th and disposed of White River in quick fashion, retiring all three batters in order... Ivie (.415/2 RI) was the hitting star with four hits and three runs... Wynnamac CF Dickie Key (.273/2 RBI) got the game's only homer... the Macs smacked losing pitcher Keil Trickett (1-2/3.31) hard for four runs and eight hits in his six innings.
