Biittner got an RBI double in the top of the first. Howard added a sacrifice fly for an RBI. Billings got a run-scoring single.

In the bottom of the first, Bosman walked three in a row to load the bases with one out. Herrmann grounded to first and Allen broke up the double play allowing May to score.

Rain began to fall in the bottom of the third. Leading to a 37 minute rain delay.

After three: Texas 3 Chicago 1.

In the bottom of the fourth, Mason committed 2 errors to lead to Herrmann scoring an unearned run.

In the top of the fifth, the Rangers got a solo jack from Burroughs.

In the bottom of the fifth, Allen hammered a 3-run homer to give the White Sox the lead.

After the White Sox got a lead off single in the bottom of the sixth, Horacio Pina replaced Bosman on the mound for the Rangers. Pina then left the game with an elbow injury. With a runner at second and two out, Don Stanhouse took the mound for the Rangers and he kept Reichardt from scoring.

After six: Chicago 5 Texas 4.

Allen led off the bottom of the seventh with a 377 foot home run.

In the top of the ninth, the Rangers had runners on first and second and two out. Terry Forster replaced Wood on the mound for the White Sox and he struck out Burroughs to end the game.

The White Sox won despite committing 4 errors.

Final score: Chicago 6 Texas 4.
