The
Phillies went 4-2 this week, losing 2 of 3 to the
New York Mets before sweeping the
Pittsburgh Pirates.
Von Hayes was activated from his rehab stint as I felt he was ready. He hit .381 with 1 HR and 4 RBIs and played well in the field. Though he injured his oblique before playing and is out for another week. Then
Meadows was lost for 3 weeks leaving me with no CFs. His injury is only for 3 weeks but I put him on the 60 day DL as the season is over in 3 weeks. I brought up
Milt Thompson after 1 game on rehab as I needed him. I also called up
Kevin Ward who was playing great at AA and I wanted him to get a taste of the majors.
I had saw C
Tom Prince on the waiver wire, and he has a decent arm and some gap power and plate discipline. He was injured and would not play this year but he was a speculative pickup for next year. He hit .281 with 12 HR, 48 RBI, 36 BB, 36 Ks in 358 PAs at AA this season. He also throw out 30% of base runners and has a positive zone rating.
