Somehow, I forgot about the 1959 Hall of Fame Class. This year we added two new members, both shortstops.

Leo Kavanagh, DET
Carlos Guillen, PIT

Kavanagh was a decent hitter (100 OPS+, 102 wRC+) who was a plus defender at SS, despite never winning a Gold Glove. He had Gold Glove type seasons in 1937, 1943, and 1944, but lost out to Royce Clayton, Hall Classmate Carlos Guillen, and Eduardo Nunez in those respective seasons. He also made 5 All-Star Teams, won 3 Silver Sluggers, and won two championships (1935 Tigers, and 1938 Tigers). In addition, he stole 796 bases (2nd all-time behind Hans Lobert's 1,067) against just 212 CS, which is good for a 78.97% career SB%.

Guillen was a better than average hitter (115 OPS+, 118 wRC+) who won 4 Gold Gloves, played in 6 All-Star Games, won 5 Silver Sluggers, and was on three championship teams (1942 Pirates, 1946 Braves, and 1948 Athletics).
