The 1960 HoF class. This year once again, two new members were added. 3B Graig Nettles was an absolute no brainer as he went in with 98.3% of the vote on his first time on the ballot, and C Josmil Pinto, who squeaked in with 76.6% of the vote on his second try.

Nettles was a 14-time All-Star, who won the 1932 NL MVP Award, put eight Gold Gloves on his mantle, along with four Silver Sluggers, two championships, and was the 1942 ALCS MVP.

Pinto was a 7-time All-Star, who was named NL ROY in 1939, and also won a Gold Glove and two Silver Sluggers along the way. I will admit that my bar for catchers is a bit lower than for all other positions due to the rigours that are associated with the catching position. Perhaps that is why I now have 10 catchers in my HoF. The next most players at one position in the Hall is SS with 7. Maybe I've been a bit soft on catchers, but damnit that's a really tough position that requires more time off for rest/injuries than any other position on the field (among the non-pitching positions).
