Wayne Norton, who died recently, was an outfielder on the KC Athletics roster in 1962. He is shown here with the Birmingham A's in a photo which was displayed on eBay in 2011.
Norton was better known for his baseball contributions following his playing days. A native Canadian, he founded Baseball Canada's Junior National Team and also was employed as a part time scout for the Montreal Expos. He managed Canada's Pan Am Games team in 1975. He was elected to the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame. In his later years, he gained more fame as a major league scout. He was an Orioles scout from 1996 through 1999, and a Mariners scout from 2000 until his death.
