Philadelphia loves their youth movement and Dick Allen is at the center of it all. The strong first baseman is a towering presence at the plate and will make Colombia park look like a sandbox. Not the most approachable man who can be lead footed on defense, little of that matters as manager Connie Mack wants him at the plate in the middle of the order.Just the look on the face of Allen will make pitcher nauseous.
Final Analysis
Connie Mack believes in building a winner in the long term and the youth for the most part of this roster shows that. Rico Petrocelli and Dick Allen have not reached their prime yet while 6 of the starting nine will be under the age of 25. There are some questions about the outfield and about starter Pete Dowling for sure, so winning may not be the expectation this season but the fanbase seems to have the trust in the Connie Mack plan.
