Face Of The Team

Mike Trout - OF

Is there anything Mike Trout cant do at the age of 23? The Pirates know what they have in Trout and the city and franchise are ecstatic about the future. His centerfield play is second to none and the comparisons to Bryce Harper and Ted Williams have already begun for best player and MVP of the league. Trout has speed on the bases as well and is a great teamate with a great mindset for the game. Pittsburgh hopes he stays a Pirate forever.

Final Analysis

One of the favorites for the NL pennant and a very good team. Trout heads up a very good lineup that also has Jose Abreu and Jim Clinton. Hans Lobert and Bob O'Farrel are fine defensive players that do the little things to win. The performance of ace Ham Iburg will be key of course, but Tim Wakefield at 43 years old just may get a look or two. The Pirates would appear to have what it takes.
