Notes:
June did not start better than May, as we dropped the first 4 games before winning our 5th. The San Diego Padres finsihed off the sweep with a 6-3 victory. Louie Meadows, went 2-4 with a HR, while Walt Weiss, Ricky Jordan and Cecil Fielder pitched in doubles. Bruce Ruffin picthed well, 2 ER in 7 IP, but CL Ed Nunez give up 4 runs in 1/3 of inning picking up his 4th BS and 3 loss. The St. Louis Cardinals came to town and pounding our pitching staff for the 1st 3 games, 19-1, 8-7 and 9-2. Kevin Gross (5 IP, 4 ER), Rob Hicks (1 IP, 6 ER), Steve Howe (3.1 IP, 4 ER),Michael Jacksons (1 IP, 2 ER), Mike Maddux (6IP, 6ER), Steve Cummings (5IP, 4ER) and Ed Nunez (1.2IP, 5ER) were the culprits. Rob Hicks was brought up when Keith Miller went on the DL and was rocked in his debut. The final game of the 4 game series, was a 5-2 win for the Phillies. Louie Meadows, Milt Thompson and Mike Schmidt all went deep and Tom Newill pikced up his first ML win going 6.1 IP, giving up 2 ER on 3 its.

Tom Barrett was ejected for charging the mound after getting hit and was suspended for 3 games. i will need to send Rob Hicks back down and bring up a hitter.
