Clarke is from Oswego Illinois and is the pride and joy of the midwest. He now is the ace of a good Cardinals team and he seems to be overlooked by many as one of the more potentially great starters in the NL. Batters to have a tendancy to hit him in the air but hard contact is another matter with all his movement.
Final Analysis
Everyone is in agreement that this is a good club, the question is how good. Centerfielder Dave Winfield is part of a lineup that should be in the prime of their years and ready to win now. Bobby Lowe and Sam Crawford can support Winfield while catcher Benji Molina is a team leader and motivator. The Cardinals are good enough to be right there in th race in the fall.
