Through the combined efforts of myself, UKbaseballfan, and RUKen, we have player IDs for the team photo of the 1889 Philadelphia Athletics. As with most of the other team photos from that year, it came from the book Athletic Sports in America, England and Australia.
Here are the IDs:
Top Row, L-R: Henry Larkin, Frank Fennelly, Blondie Purcell, George Townsend (DNP), Tom Gunning, Gus Weyhing, Ed Knouff, Harry Stovey
Bottom Row, L-R: Phenomenal Smith, Lave Cross, Curt Welch, Mike Mattimore, Bill Sharsig (Mgr.), Lou Bierbauer, Denny Lyons, Ed Seward
