Rivers put the Angels on the board in the bottom of the first with a sacrifice fly for an RBI.

Halicki had a no-hitter through three.

After three: California 1 Texas 0.

The Rangers tied it in the top of the fourth thanks to a run-scoring single by Grieve. A walk later and the Rangers had the bases loaded with one out. Dent then cleared them with a grand slam!

In the topof the fifth, Grieve had a 2-RBI double.

With one out in the bottom of the fifth, Tolan singled for the Angels first hit of the game. The Angels went on to load the bases with two out. But Alomar grounded to first to end the inning.

Dave Sells came on to pitch for the Angels in the sixth inning.

After six: Texas 7 California 1.

In the top of the eighth, Dent scored from second on an Angels error.

In the bottom of the eighth, a Rivers single scored 1.

Final score: Texas 8 California 2.
