Feel free to go the Earl Weaver route and invest in some great defensive ability behind your pitcher. People forget how good his Orioles teams were defensively.

My best pitcher is an Extreme Groundball pitcher with 58 Stuff/70 Movement/77 Control. He had a 4.10 ERA in 193 IP with 27 HRA in 2017 but a 2.0 BB/9 and a solid enough 6.4 K/9.

While you want low HR totals, just be prepared to accept that pitching at Coors Field means allowing a lot of home runs.

The one thing I emphasize is control above all else, where possible. I'd rather get beat allowing some base hits/HRs that get by my defense than giving away free base runners/runs via walks.

The other thing, more specific to your bullpen, is to play the matchups. If your reliever is lights out against RHP, do the obvious and plug him in rather than trying to overthink it via his "role" and mess it all up.
