My apologies to both of you in that case ! I actually decided to go with 1986 instead (how original of me ! .-) .
So we have played out the 1901-02 and 03 seasons. My Cleveland Blues have made it to second place in 1903, but face some key positions that have aging players (Chambliss at first for example, now 38).
Our star is Bobby Murcer who has been hitting in the area of .320-.340 each season with between 30 and 45 homers (led the league, tied with Yaz for 1902). We sucked the first two seasons though.
Best hitter so far in the league has been Turkey Mike Donley, who hit the current record of .411 in 1902. Pedro Martinez and Clayton Kershaw have ranked among the Cy Young award winners. Have to rename that thing: what if Cy Young shows up in the draft? Awkward...
Anyway by not expanding automatically, the league stays (so far at least, hope this works) with the original 1901 teams - Milwaukee Brewers, Chicago Orphans, Boston Beaneaters, etc.
More news to come soon.
