15 teams have been claimed. Still some good (or at least intriguing) teams out there:
AL: California, Chicago, Detroit, KC, Oakland and Toronto
NL: Chicago, Cincy, LA, Philly, Pittsburgh and SF
Both AL division winners (Chisox and World Champ Toronto) and the NL East champ Phillies are all still available plus a 103-win Giants team and a Dodgers team that has both a young Piazza and a young Pedro Martinez to build around (just don't deal him to Montreal for Delino DeShields!).
There's talent all over the place:
- The Angels have Tim Salmon plus both Jim Edmonds and Troy Percival on the farm
- Lou Whitaker and Alan Trammell may be getting long in the tooth, but the Tigers also have Travis Fryman plus farm hands Bobby Higginson, Tony Clark and Lima Time himself
- KC has Brett for more one rodeo plus a farm that includes Mike Sweeney, Johnny Damon and Jon Lieber
- Oakland has one remaining Bash Brother, plus a pair of HOFers in Rickey and Eck. And there's Giambi on the farm too.
- The Cubbies have a solid infield with Grace, Sandberg and Buechele plus Sammy Sosa in the OF. The farm is pretty bare though - this is a good one for a rebuild-minded GM
- Cincy has in their prime Rijo & Larkin plus the big bat of Kevin Mitchell and a young Reggie Sanders. The farm is thin here too - Eric Owens and Pokey Reese head up a humdrum group.
- The Pirates? Well, yeah most of the cupboard has been picked clean. Jay Bell and Andy Van Slyke are the lone reminders of the recent glory days. The farm includes both Jason Kendall and Denny Neagle.
