so far this is what I am experiencing:
setup:
-if not using all real MLB teams, it takes a lot of time and effort to set up teams, expansion, logos, uniforms (especially with minors and feeder teams and having to do uniform changes throughout history), but to me is worth it and once set up future play through has a lot of the work done already
-name sets, ethnicity mixture in early years (especially if you want integrated league but not modern day percentages)
play through:
-realistic financials, stats (even in fictional world), having to constantly monitor it
-odd unrealistic things happening, like manager of the year going to same manager for 10 straight years (yes it happened, even in years they didn't have best record or win title).
-dealing with league changes, evolving league on your own (world database, rule changes...) I had to make a spreadsheet of what to do on a decade basis and on a yearly basis so I didn't forget something. Would be cool if you could set up reminders in the game, like at the start of each year a pop up that says "remember to do xyz" and you can customize what it will say. So when X year comes around you get the reminder that you wanted to change a specific rule that year.

Started in 1871 and it is Nov 1942 right now. 16 team USBL with full minors and feeder. 10 other leagues running. Nothing too weird right now. Financials look good, stats seem to be in line with what I expect. Only took me 3 days to add feeder teams with correct uni's and stuff (300 team NCAA). Really the only issue is adding in leagues and expansion and having to add all the logo's and uni's and stuff, but not too bad.
