Are there detailed directions on loading the historic ballparks. All I see in Add-on is Download and Install... after that, nothing. I'm sure all the others having problems are doing just that.

I would suggest waiting. Personally I tried them (was very excited - still am), and my game crashed at least every other game. I have both the Steam version and the non-Steam version. I uninstalled, and I haven't had a crash in 3 years (I only "play out" 2 games a month - but that's still 36 games + deciding playoff games). I suppose it might be a coincidence, but I'm pretty convinced it's not.
I follow the mod (here and on Steam discussion), and I am 99% sure no changes to fix it have been made.
My reasons for that belief :
1. There was nothing in the OOTP patch notes, discussing any change.
2. Because some people can use the mod with no issue the mod owner believes it to be a symptom of an OOTP problem with the 3D, and not caused by his mod.
That all said, there are people that have no issues with it.
Edit : Your original question .. Just start a new career. Once you do that, the next time you go to load your new game - you will be able to delete the old one. The game doesn't let you delete your last load (Whatever load pushing the "Continue" option points to).
