This to me is a feature and not a bug, I always turn AI trading all the way down because I get mad at all the AI "Manny Machado for Matt Reynolds and a hot dog vendor" deals the AI loves so much.

Edit: some people do this but change the AI trade frequency to the highest setting on July 1 to mimic deadline frenzy, so you can consider that.
