In my game it's July 22 and to be honest, I'm surprised there hasn't been more trade activity. I mean I am initiating quite a few because I'm a wheeler-dealer but I am not seeing many other trades come across the wire.

As a team (barely) in first place I expected to receive tons of trade offers of useful veterans who will soon be FAs from teams who are out of it but looking for prospects, but nothing really. Maybe special logic for the trade deadline isn't coded in?

I read that IRL activity around the trade deadline has diminished since the expansion of the playoffs. With two wildcards there are now just more teams that are in the hunt longer than before.

In my universe for example, Toronto is well back of the Yankees (and Red Sox) but when I asked about trading for Donaldson they acted like I asked for a kidney. But they are 7 games back and I guess they still have a chance.

OTOH, the Rays are under .500 and do not, but have no interest in dumping Wilson Ramos's remaining two months (and prorated $10m salary) unless I give them one of my best players (with 3-4 years of team control remaining). Yeah, right.
