Every day I check the FA wire and was shocked today (July 29 in my game) to find a FA there who was a guy good enough that I had been trying to actively trade for him just a little while ago!

I've gotten the rare gem before, given my low standards -- one guy in my rotation is an LAD castoff, but that makes sense, and he's 25 and mediocre in overall terms. But this is different:

- He's a position player who already has all green bars for infield and outfield defense.
- My scout shows potential of 50/45/30/80/45.
- My scout's overall is 3* (OSA is 2*) and he says he has the "talent to flourish" at shortstop, the phrasing I usually see used for very good prospects.
- And the kicker: he's 17.

This seems like something has gone awry with the player evaluation logic, yes?

ETA: HE seems to know he's worth something because, unlike every other FA I have pulled off the wire, he wants a hefty signing bonus...
