Question for the devs: will a two-way player develop properly in the IC?
(I address this to the devs because I believe the two-way features are new and so I don't think players would know. I could be wrong, of course.)
So, my scout surprised me a while ago by bringing back what appeared to be an actually good pitching prospect.. unlike the usual. He has 60/60/65 potential, 4 pitches, and the scout said he could be closer material (though his fastball only has 50 potential, which is a little odd.)
Anyway, I am not one to look a gift horse in the mouth. So I figured I'll let him ripen in the IC for a year or two and see what happens.
Then just now I was doing a search on batting stats and .. what is this? The same guy has these batting stat potentials: 60/90/45/80/55. Woah. Not much in the way of speed or defense, but still.. it appears my scout may have found me a "baby Ohtani."
Now I realize that these may all crater over the next year or two, but I'm interested in trying to avoid that as much as possible. The question is: will he continue to develop on "both sides" in the IC, or do I need to bring him into the DSL?
Two-way players are not supported properly in scouting reports yet, which makes it hard to track this. Anyway, if a dev reading this can assist, I'd be grateful. Thanks.
PS I am not even sure two-way players develop on both sides in the minors, but I did check Ohtani in my game and it appears he did advance at least a little as both, so I am assuming so.
