January 24th, 2023: Today marks the start of the preseason and my owner reminded me how litle money he gave me to try and win a pennant...

The Blue Jays made a splash and signed SP Carlos Martinez to a 4-year, $86,000,000 contract even after he had a down year. Just 31, Martinez has a ton of talent and he's waiting to put it back together.

The Mariners signed RHP Tony Zych to a 3-year, $25,500,000 contract. He's saved 33 games last year and 32 the year before for the Angels.

I placed Tanner Rainey on the 60-Day DL to free up a 40-man spot.

January 28th, 2023: I sent RF Cole Brannen and 3B Josh Smith to the Angels for RF/P Shoehi Ohtani.

In this world, Ohtani is a much better hitter then pitcher, ranked 3.5 as opposed to just 2, but he's still turned in a solid career. And the Angels covered all of his salary, which is an added plus. He's got 83 power, which has translated to 74 homers and 208 RBI's and a .249/.318/.461 batting line. He's pitched to a 32-46 record with a 4.52 ERA and 1.39 WHIP, but he's not going to start for us. Our 5 are much better then him, but he can get the occasoinal spot start or relief outing. It's hard to give up Brannen, but he's fragile and he's just not the same player he used to be, and to get someone special like Ohtnai is too good to pass up.

February 2nd, 2023: The Red Sox signed 1B Neil Walker to a 3-year, $29,400,000 contract. Now primarily a 1B at 37, Walker is still a solid hitter as he slugged 29 homers and 72 RBI's to go with a .269/.337/.472 batting line with the Yanks last season.

February 5th, 2023: The Reds traded LF Stuart Fairchild to the Tigers for RHP Andrew Owen. It's an interesting trade, and I'm not sure which team got the better end of the trade.

February 10th, 2023: The Royals sent LF Steele Walker and RHP Zach Pettway to Milwaukee for RHP Corbin Burnes. I like this trade for KC.

February 14th, 2023: Tanner Rainey suffered a setback and will miss another 7 weeks. He's dropped a ton, and I'm hoping I can find a trade partner for him.

February 18th, 2023: The Padres traded RHP Chris Paddack to the Giants for 1B Jorge Medeles. Not sure what the Padres were thinking here...

February 25th, 2023: I made a big deal the day before Spring Training, sending 1B Evan White, C C.J. Willis, and 2B Andrew Vaughn to the Mariners for CL James Pazos. I could've sent just White, but with the other two added they ate his whole contract.

Pazos is a 4.5* with killer stuff, including a plus plus fastball and slider. He also has a decent change, and keeps the ball on the ground. He's got a career 3.10 ERA and 1.23 WHIP, and will make a great lefty-righty tandom with Joe Jimenez to set up Yasukazu Shiotani.
