Texas closer Bobby Patterson suffered a strained elbow today and heads to the DL for 6-7 weeks at least. Cowboys bring former closer Eli Alford from a setup role back to the back end of the pen.

Alamogordo SS Robbie Flowers went 4-5 HR 2 RBI (.335-6-36) in an 11-6 win
AA 1B Luis Aguilar spent 10 games in Alamogordo before being sent down to Clovis and in 54 games he's hit .372/.430/.740 with 23 HR 69 RBI. He's been called back up to Alamogordo to get everyday at bats.
The Hobbs Blue Claws are 8-7 to start the short season schedule. Their offense has hit 21 homers and scored 125 runs in those 15 games and is hitting a league leading .337 as a team and is 2nd in the league in OBP at .432. They have 6 players with an OPS of 1.000+ 4 players with an OBP of .500 or better 5 more at .400 or better and just 1 with an OBP of less than .324. 4 players hitting .400+ and just 2 players hitting UNDER .300. While it is just 15 games I am reaching out to their hitting coach Masuami Nakamura. His 9,000 contract is up this year and I'd like to see if I can't get him to take on an extension.
2005 6th rounder Marc Gammel went 4-5 and scored 3 times in an 12-7 win at Rio Rancho and is hitting .417/.493/.500 through 14 games over 73 at bats.
