  • AA Pitcher was 21 year old Joe Linn. 1st overall selection in the 2005 draft went 9-4 4.37 over 90.2 IP with 75 K 17 BB.
  • At Farmington Closer Chris Orr went 6-7 with 25 Saves and a 3.84 ERA. 60 K 31 BB 62 H in 61 IP. 24-year-old minor league Free agent signed last November.
  • Mike Evans took home AA MVP with his .293/.394/.549 slash line hitting 13 HR and driving in 48 in 76 games. 24-year-old acquired in December trade with Pittsburgh Miners.
  • At Hobbs 2B Pat Strickland (.373/.504/.636 7 HR 40 RBI) and INF Teagan Beairston (.351/.469/.515 5 HR 31 RBI) tied for the team MVP. Beairston (21) was the 4th round draft pick this year and Strickland was a 21-year-old Minor league FA signed after the draft this June.
  • 25-year-old Luis Anglada took home Pitcher of the year going 6-6 5.57 with 93 Ks in 82 IP
  • 21 year old OF Braedon Pushak went .318/.448/.636 over 36 games with 10 HR and 41 RBI's. Signed as an undrafted minor league free agent in June.

With the 17th pick in the 1st round of the 1996 draft the San Diego Missions selected slugger Chris Hastings. A power hitting 1st basemen he made it through the minors rather quickly and was a 2001 ABA allstar as well as the 2001 NL Gold Glove winner at 1B. He rejected their qualifying offer after the 2003 season and a radically different free agent market awaited. Thinking he was heading into a massive payday, he instead ended up signing with the Chinatrust Brothers of the Nippon league. He bounced around the next 2 years and never settled in over there and came back after being released on September 1st of this year. We had some conversations with him. He's a major league 1st basemen, just 30 years old and some good years in front of him
