- 2005 Post Season
- WILD CARD GAMES
- Detroit Ted Barlow (0-0 0.00) @ Denver Winton Alward (11-11 4.24)
- The Phantoms are starting 33 year old Ted Barlow, a 3 time all star. Ted has NOT thrown a pitch in the big leagues since tearing his UCL well over a year ago. Injuries and having to play to the seasons final day has created this matchup. Denver counters with ace Winton Alward.
- Washington Sean Cockley (14-8 3.70) @ San Francisco Andy Messana (11-11 4.90)
- Barlow lasts just 1.2 innings before he gets the hook but Detroit knocks Alward around for 5 on 9 hits in 5.2 innings including 3 homers. Chris Hatch comes into PR in the 7th for Loan Auffret but runs into a rally-killing double play. Denver ties it up in the bottom half. Hatch comes up to hit in Auffrets' place in the 9th and promptly delivers a 2R GW homer of Chris McAlhaney. And Detroit moves on.
- And in the other gem Washington managed to scratch a 9th inning run to tie the game and then Tony Stockwell hit a solo shot off Jeff Genier in the 13th to give Washington the play in win.
