Preseason

January 30th, 2024: Nate Blind has never played a big league game, but he signed a 3-year, $12,520,000 contract with the Angels. The former 2nd Rounder was a minor league free agent, but rates as a 2.5/3, so it's nod a bad deal per say.

A few rule changes of note: I increased the roster limit of AAA, AA, A+, and A to reduce the strain on minor league players.

January 31st, 2024: Well here's an interesting storyline, Padres lefty Adrian Morejon's age has come in to question. Rumors have iet that Morejon is not actually the 24 he claims to be. In his career, he's 14-9 with a 4.57 ERA and 1.29 WHIP.

February 6th, 2024: I traded RHP Shane Smith to the Mets for RHP Coy Cobb. Cobb, 24, is rated a 0.5/2 as a SP and 1.5/3 as a CL, the position the Mets had him in the minors. The former 20th rounder has a great fastball and solid control, and can be a decent pen arm.

February 7th, 2024: Supposedly a controversial DNA test has hinted that Adrian Morrejon is in fact older then he says, however this is not official. This will be a interesting story to follow.

February 11th, 2024: The Pirates have signed RF Justin Williams to a 3-year, $14,320,000 contract. The former Ray is a career .299/.345/.492 line with 114 homers and 417 RBI's.

February 15th, 2024: A pair of relievers are off the market. Toronto signed Arodys Vizcaino to a 1-year, $3,960,000 contract and the Red Sox signed Tommy Kahnle to a 3-year, $10,760,000 contract.

February 20th, 2024: I traded out of options RHP Nick Neidert and C Jonathan Carillo to the Royals for SS Devonte Brown, SP Marc Bjork, and 2B Tristan Hanoian. And yes, that's the Carillo I took in the first round a few rounds back that I really didn't want to take, and my new scout isn't fond of him.

First up, is SS Devonte Brown, who is a great defensive shortstop and second basemen that I'm trying out at third. He's got an elite arm, solid speed, and a decent bat. The former 3rd rounder from 2021 is a 1.5/3.5.

Next is 23-year-old righty Marc Bjork. He's got a knee buckling curveball, a plus plus slider, and a plus splitter. He's still working on his control, but he does a good job of keeping the ball on the ground. The former 8th Rounder in 2020 is rated a 1.5/3.

Lastly, 24-year-old 2B Tristan Hanoian who is an elite defensive second basemen that is a great shortstop and I will also try him at third. His arm isn't as good as Brown's, but it's still great. He's a great base stealer and makes good contact. The former 2nd Rounder is rated a 3* potential.

February 27th, 2024: I traded SP Tylor McGill and SP A.J. Block to the Cardinals for SP Mason Barnett, SP Slade Cecconi, and 1B Ashton McGee.

Cecconi, 24, is the prize of the haul, a 3/3.5 SP from Winter Park, Florida. The former 2nd rounder has two plus-plus pitches, a fastball and slider, and two solid pitches. His fastball can reach 100, and is control is impeccable. He's not quite ready for the rotation, but he'll be in line to replace A.J. Puckett if needed. In 73 games (34 starts) with the Cards, he's 10-16 with a save, 4.72 ERA, 1.29 WHIP, and 136 strikeouts in 164 innings.

Barnett, 23, is a nother solid starting pitcher prospects with an amazing curveball and overpowering fastball, as well as a nice change he can turn to. Another guy with great control, the former 7th rounder is rated a 1.5/3.

McGee, 25, is a great hitter who's a solid defender at first base. He's not a throw in, but he's not a star in the making. Rated a 2/2.5, the lefty was a 4th Round pick back in 2019. He's a nice lefty bat that can play a little third base as well.

Spring Training is right around the corner!
