    GENERAL MANAGERS OFFICE
Tim Agresta's agent phoned today. Apparent the 31-year-old would like an extension. He's pitching better than he ever has except that his strikeout rate continues to decline. This all popped into my head as I questioned the 'ask' They wanted a 1-year 825K deal. I tried to hide the giggle. I would think about it and get back to them.
I phoned back about 2 hours later, left an offer of 625K, bonuses for 200IP (which he's never done) All-star and Koufax awards, all big dollar stuff. He's thinking about it.

  • 6/2: DEN 4 FLA 2 Nate Aucoin (DEN) W (6-4) 8 IP 9 K 2 ER
  • 6/3: FLA 10 MIN 3 Rand 2-4 2 HR 4 RBI Chase W (8-2 2.56) 7.1 IP 7 H 5 K 1 ER
  • Korey Rick (MIN) 3-3 2B RBI Hastings 2-4 (.301-8-30)
  • Pat Strickler (NE) tossed a 3-hitter to beat Jacksonville 1-0 and punched out 10. He's 4-1 3.71
  • Juan Balboa (AAA) tossed 8 1-hit innings in a 2-0 win over the Anaconda Stranglers. The 28-year-old is 3-2 4.95 but cannot gain control of his fastball. He's walked 48 in 63.2 innings to just 39 strikeouts. And that's a guy who touches 99.
  • 6/4: MIN 7 FLA 4 Korey Rick 3-4 Chris Hastings 2-4 HR 3 RBI
  • Klatt 3-5 HR (7) 4 RBI (23) Ramirez L (4-1 4.13) 5.1 IP 6 K 2 HR 5 ER

Who the heck is Eric Hecht? Player profile coming up. Jeff Chase leads the league in both ERA and Wins. Some big K totals in the AL so far.

The West is a 2 team race in June. They are both good, and healthy. I expect both to be in the playoffs. I have no clue about the central. Even though they are all under .500 I think the most amazing thing is Milwaukee is 16 games under but just 7.5 out! Are we for real? Time will tell but Detroit appears to be getting it going.

NL West title to San Francisco? Already 10 games up. The East looks to be a 1.5 team race right now and the central looks like all 4 could be in the mix at some point.
