A few personnel notes about the team:
Veteran OF'er Justin Schumann, who impressed so in spring training games, is on the verge of having his rehab time end and the team brain trust needs to make a decision about who to send down to AAA to fit Schumann on the squad. Likely one of the underused youngsters in the bullpen, Brad Schmidt or Ben Malzone, will need to be sent down, but no word yet on a final decision on which.
Also, it has now been noted in the local press that 25-year old second baseman, Tanner Yurek, has emerged early in the season as a new fan favorite locally, joining veteran third baseman, A.J. White, in that category. Yurek (.245/.328/.388), off to a slow start in the early going, did show signs of coming out of his slump in the past week of play.
