Tarpon General Manager Gehrig Schilling called a meeting post game after the latest defeat at the hands of the Aces. Another anemic night of offense apparently was 'the straw' in all this.
“I'd like to announce a few roster moves. We are awaiting word on Jace so there's really no news there. We have optioned catcher Max Ramiez to Alamogordo, and recalled Catcher Cisco Mendoza.
We have optioned shortstop Josh Klatt to AAA as well, and recalled infielder Ron Turner.
Also Kevin has a few quick things to add.
“As of tonight I have spoken with the staff so none of this will come as a surprise to them. Jake (Grab) will take over the role of closing. Ernesto will move into his setup role. Our bullpen is far better situated with our lefties in these roles anjd Ernesto and Brad in their new spots.
POST CONFERENCE SCUTTLEBUTT
Word out of the clubhouse is that Gehrig had a post game closed door meeting and no one was spared. Galindo is rumored to be very unhappy at the role change, as apparently he was 'promised' the job of closing. In this closed door meeting another rumor surfaced saying the GM and star CF Mike Haupt got into a loud shouting match in front of the entire club.
