The issue is he was playing and representing the Milwaukee Brewers not the Seattle Pilots. So we should now build up a colorization portfolio not of the teams that players played for but all the uniforms that they wore in turn back the clock day, really??????? Are you suggesting that fabricating images in this way is a useful service to the baseball community when there are thousands of instances where we don't have colorized images of Major League players for the teams they represented!
The second point is what is there to celebrate in respect of a Seattle Pilots uniform. Look at other franchises and how they fared in their first season in respect of a move or as an expansion team. When the Braves moved to Milwaukee they flourished in their fast year, the Browns were on the path to success as the Orioles. Even the Mets, that were sometimes ridiculed in their first year,went on to be a successful franchise. In 1969 the Expos, Royals and Padres were in the same boat as the Pilots. Compare their progress to the Pilots who despite the best efforts of (Tommy Harper, Mike Hegan, Tommy Davis, Don Mincher, Wayne Comer, Jerry McNertney, John Donaldson, Ray Oyler, Gene Brabender, etc) while being the face of a new baseball team in a new market were relocated after year 1.
Yes, the Brewers have produced some tremendous players but that was after the Pilots moved to Milwaukee.
