Spring Training

February 27th, 2025: I called up all the non-roster players today.

February 28th, 2025: The Brewers have reunited with former CL Corey Knebel. He agreed to a 3-year, $58.2 million contract. After a year with the Giants, Astros, and Red Sox, he'll return to the organization he spent 2015-2021 with. In his career, he has 175 saves in 657 games with a 3.85 ERA and 1.30 WHIP.

March 1st, 2025: The Reds traded RHP Hunter Greene and cash to the Yankees for C Canaan Smith. I really like this deal for the White, although they need him to bounce back after a rough year. The Reds could be selling low.

March 3rd, 2025: The Mariners acquired 2B Kevin Merrell from the A's for 1B Evan White. I like this deal for Oakland, although the Mariners will find a way to re-acquire White.

March 5th, 2025: Lazaro Armenteros has a sore elbow and will head to the DL. He'll be back by Opening Day.

March 8th, 2025: The Brewres will be withouth LHP Randy Rosario for the year with a torn labrum. They claimed him off waivers from Washington in the postseason.

The Cubs signed longtime National Anthony Rendon to a 2-year, $10.6 million contract. The 34-year-old is a career .267/.352/.444 hitter with 201 homers and 694 RBI's from 2013-2024 with Washington.

March 14th, 2025: Thomas Dillard will head to the DL with a strained lat, and will hopefully be back for Opening Day. Any time without him will be rough, although he was hurt at this time last year and stayed healthy all year.

March 15th, 2025: Isaac Nunez will miss about 2 weeks with shoulder inflammation, but should be ready for Opening Day.

Jaheim Meggett ruptured a tendon in his finger, and will miss 3 months. It's another big injury for the former 2nd Rounder. He'll head to the 10-Day DL before I option him to AAA.

March 22nd, 2025: The Orioles will be without SP Nick Burdi for the year wtih a torn flexor tendon. They acquired him from the Pirates in the offseason. He pitched from 2018-2024 with them, going 39-38 in 453 games (39 starts) with a 3.52 ERA and 1.23 WHIP.

Former Marlin MHP Ben Heller signed a 1-year, $2,720,000 contract with Oakland, where he pitched from 2020-2024, before being traded to us in July. Last year, he was 6-3 with a save and 2.93 ERA as well as a 1.05 WHIP and 75 strikeouts in 58.1 innings.

March 25th, 2025: The Dodgers lost Carlos Martinez for the year with a torn labrum. They acquired him from Toronto for Nolan Arrenado in December. He's 101-104 with a 4.17 ERA and 1.32 WHIP in 380 games (307 starts).

March 28th, 2025: Lazaro Armenteros is back with the club. Dillard should return tomorrow.

Toronto signed CL Thyago Viera to a 1-year, $9.9 million deal. He's had an up and down career, but recorded 20 or more saves from 2020-2024 with the White Sox.

March 29th, 2025: Dillard rejoined the club just in time.

March 31st, 2025: Isaac Nunez rejoined the roster.

April 2nd, 2025: While I don't play tomorrow, tomorrow is Opening Day. Here's the current roster of the defending World Series Champions:

SP Walker Buehler (4/4)
SP Jake Florence (3.5/5)
SP Dinelson Lamet (3/3)
SP Steve Paustian (3/4.5)
SP Mike Soroka (3/3.5)
RP Dylan Cease (4/4)
RP Slade Cecconi (4/4.5)
RP Ernesto Estrella (3.5/4)
RP Ramon Perez (3.5/3.5)
RP Ben Popkin (3/4)
RP Alpha Quivers (4.5/4.5)
RP Chasen Shreve (3.5/3.5)
CL Jorge Moya (5/5)
C Thomas Dillard (5/5)
C Austin Hedges (1.5/1.5)
1B Seth Beer (4/4)
2B Deshawn Hardamon (3.5/5)
2B Scott Kingery (3/3)
3B Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (5/5)
SS Isaac Nunez (4/5)
LF Lazaro Armenteros (4/4.5)
LF Cole Roederer (3/3)
CF Mickey Moniak (4/4)
RF Austin Hendrick (3/4)
RF Shoehi Ohtani (4/4)

This roster isn't totally complete, I plan on looking at waivers to replace Cecconi in the pen (so he can start in AAA) and add an infielder for Cole Roederer. Worst case, I can sign a free agent or promote one of the infielders I added on minor league deals.

We start the 2025 Regular Season next!
