TARPONS, GENERALS AGREE TO SWAP
Sources close to Tarpons GM Gehrig Schilling have indicated a trade has been agreed to in principle to trade 23 year old Yasushi Sugihara to Florida in exchange for 26-year-old reliever Sam Ginn. Ginn is 1-2 7.53 in 14.1 IP with 18 K's this year while Sugihara is 9-3 3.14 in 13 starts. He was recently sent to the bullpen. Ohio is 48-38 and trails 1st place Chicago by just 2 games. They've had major issues with their 12th ranked bullpen and apparently, this move was made to bolster that group. But at what cost?

Don't ask me.... This kid is legit and while they are struggling with their bullpen how on earth is moving him the answer? His arm would have helped them down there. I'll take it. Ginn will immediately step into their late-inning group and I'll keep this kid in a long relief, spot start role as he develops. This could be one of those off the radar franchise makers.
Also thought I would mention this. Our farm system has shot up to #2. It appears 3 of our 2008 draft picks are already ranked. Andy Elizondo is the 30th ranked ABA prospect, Danny Sharp 172nd, and Jimmy Helms 196th.
