Fritz Buelow 1899
Buelow was the Indians (or now more correctly Naps with the established prominence of their Second-Baseman) starting catcher in 1905. The previous year he had played an equal number of games, 42, for both Detroit and Cleveland. The only Indians image I have of him is 90x135. The best image I have of him is again while with Detroit, this time 1902.
Like Lush I do not believe we have any colored image of Buelow.
5 of the players from the 1904 Indians starting lineup maintained that status (Bay, Flick.Lajoie, Turner and Bradley). Significantly Buelow often batted third in the lineup between the Hall of Famers Flick and Lajoie. Newcomers to the starting lineup were First Baseman George Stovall and Left Fielder Jim Jackson. Addie Joss was the leading winner.
