August 1st-August 7th

August 1st, 2025: Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was named July's Player of the Month, hitting .310 with 13 homers and 27 RBI's. The 26-year-old is hitting .289 with 28 homers and 70 RBI's on the season.

We opened the series at Citi Field with Jake Florence (6-6, 4.08 ERA, 1.42 WHIP) taking on Brady Singer (7-4, 3.01 ERA, 0.98 WHIP). With the bases loaded, Ahmed Rosario drew a walk and the Mets "walked" off 6-5.

Florence went just 3 innings, allowing 5 hits, 4 runs (3 earned), a walk, and 4 strikeotus. Joseph Jarneski went 2 innings, allowing a run and hit. Jorge Moya got the loss, 0.2 innings with 2 hits, a run, 2 walks, and 2 strikeouts. Isaiah Musa made his Marlins debut, 1.2 innings with a hit and 2 strikeouts.

Seth Beer was 1-for-4 with a two run homer, his 30th of th eyear. Cole Roederer was 3-for-5 with a run scored. Shoehi Ohtani was 1-for-4 with a walk and two run homer. Jeison Guzman was 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles. Thomas Dillard was 2-for-5 with a double, run scored, and RBI.

August 2nd, 2025: The now "fragile" Isaac Nunez will begin a rehab assignment in Jupiter. I'm going to teach him a little third base while he's down.

We looked to bounce back with Dinelson Lamet (5-3, 3.42 ERA, 1.13 WHIP) taking on Michael Wacha (4-7, 3.12 ERA, 1.11 WHIP). Another one run game, and we fell 8-7.

Lamet left with an injury, and luckily Soroka comes back tomorrow so he'll head to the DL tomorrow if needed. He went 3.1 innings with 3 hits, 5 runs, 3 walks, and 3 strikeouts. Ernesto Estrella went 1.1 innings with 4 hits, 2 runs, a walk, and 3 strikeouts. Musa allowed a run in the 7th off a hit, walk, and strikeout.

Seth Beer hit another homer, going 1-for-3 with 2 walks and 2 RBI's. Vlad Jr. was 3-for-5 with a run scored and steal. Juan Ramirez was 2-for-4 with a walk, double, and 3 RBI's. Thomas Dillard was 2-for-5 with a run scored and double. Austin Hendrick had a pinch hit, 2-run double in the 8th.

August 3rd, 2025: I placed Lamet on the DL and activated Mike Soroka. I don't know Lamet's diagnosis, but it's the easiest way to deal with the situation.

Soroka (8-6, 3.03 ERA, 1.13 WHIP) got the start against Noah Syndergaard (7-10, 3.26 ERA, 1.07 WHIP) as we looked to at least attempt to salvage the split with a win in game three. Gregorio Alvaregna will be a problem for Soroka, and he's 20-for-46 against him in his career. We've beat Syndergaard three times coming into this game, but couldn't do it a fourth time and we lost 8-2...

Soroka had a rough start, 3.1 innings with 7 hits, 5 runs, a walk, and strikeout. Ernesto Estrella allowed 3 runs and 3 hits in an inning with a walk and strikeout.

Vlad Jr. was 3-for-4 with a double. Juan Ramirez was 0-for-3 with a run scored, RBI, and steal. Seth Beer was 1-for-3 with an RBI.

August 4th, 2025: Lamet just has a sore elbow, so he'll be back after the DL time expires. I also activated Marc Bjork from the DL and optioned Estrella to AAA.

We've dropped all the way to 9th in the Power Rankings as our record has dropped to 65-42.

We looked to avoid the sweep with Walker Buehler (6-4, 2.40 ERA, 0.98 WHIP) facing Francisco Morales (3-1, 2.25 ERA, 1.07 WHIP). Honestly, I don't think we've been swept all season. Until now... They 1-hit us 2-0...

Buehler went just 4.2 innings, allowing 5 hits, a run, walk, and he struck out 6. Bjrok allowed a run in 2 innings with a hit, walk, and strikeout.

Shoehi Ohtani had the only hit, and was 1-for-4. Cole Roederer was 0-for-3 with a walk and steal.

Well, that sucked...

We're heading home to Miami and we'll see the Twins for three. We'll face Casey Mize (6-0, 2.10 ERA), Liam Norris (2-0, 1.86 ERA), and Chad Bradenburg (3-8, 6.38 ERA).

August 5th, 2025: I sent Deshawn Hardamon to Jupiter for a rehab assignment, activated Nunez from his, and optioned Caleb Balgaard to AAA.

The Astros will be without SP Forrest Whitley for the year wtih shoulder inflammation. He was just 2-8 with a 5.26 ERA.

We looked to stop losing, and got to enjoy the comfort of our home fans. Steve Paustian (5-3, 3.78 ERA, 1.43 WHIP) would face Casey Mize (6-0, 2.10 ERA, 0.95 WHIP) in the sold out opener. We continued to suck, and were dominated 7-1...

Paustian went just 3 innings, allowing 5 hits, 4 runs, 2 walks, and he struck out 4. Six relievers combined for 6 innings with 3 hits, 3 runs, 5 walks, and 6 strikeouts. The injuries are really starting to take a toll...

Jr. was 1-for-2 with a solo homer and two walks. Isaac Nunez was 1-for-3 in his return from the DL.

31-year-old SS Francisco Lindor hit his 2,000th career hit. The switch hitter is a career .310/.378/.521 hitter with 283 homers, 1,028 RBI's, and has been worth a total of 72.4 Wins Above Replacement. The Indians superstar looks to be a first ballot hall of famer and perhaps the best shortstop of all time.

August 7th, 2025: A pair of pitchers are out for the year. The Angels Lane McCullers Jr. tore his ulnar collateral ligament and the Yankees Corbin Burnes stretched his elbow ligament. Both guys were struggling this season, with ERA's above 5.

We looked to halt our 7 game losing streak with Shoehi Ohtani (3-1, 3.36 ERA, 1.25 WHIP) facing young star Liam Norris (2-0, 1.86 ERA, 0.83 WHIP) who's making his first big league start after 5 relief appearences. We kept falling, dropping the middle game 4-2.

Ohtani went 3.2 innings, allowing 3 hits, 2 runs, 4 walks, and he struck out 6. Isaiah Musa allowed a run off a hit, 3 walks, and 2 strikeouts in the 7th inning.

Jeison Guzman was 2-for-4 with a steal. Juan Ramirez was 1-for-4 with a solo homer. Isan Diaz had a pinch hit solo homer in the 8th. Seth Beer was 2-for-4 with a double. Austin Hendrick was 1-for-4 with a double.

Cubs C Adley Rustchman hit for the cycle in a 16-4 win over the Pirates. He was also 5-for-5 for a double milestone.

August 7th, 2025: Lazaro Armenteros will head to the GCL for a rehab assignment. He's also now considered "fragile" as my roster may have to change a lot...

We looked to avoid another sweep with Jake Florence (6-6, 4.22 ERA, 1.42 WHIP) taking on Chad Bradenburg (3-8, 6.38 ERA, 1.63 WHIP). We also now sit 4 games out of first with just a 4 game lead on the 2nd Wild Card. I don't even know what is happening, and we lost 4-2...

SWEPT AT HOME!?!?!? 9 LOSSES IN A ROW!?!?!

Thankfully, tomorrow is an off day...

Florence went 3 innings, allowing 4 hits, 3 runs, 3 walks, and 2 strikeouts. Joseph Jarneski went 2 innings with 3 hits, a run, walk, and 2 strikeotus. Alpha Quivers allowed 2 hits and struck out 3 in 2 innings.

Cole Roederer was 2-for-5 with a double, triple, and two runs scored. Juan Ramirez was 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles, 2 RBI's, and was 1-for-2 on steals. Vlad Jr. was 1-for-2 with three walks. Isaac Nunez was 2-for-4 with a steal and double.

Madison Bumgarner tossed a 5-hit shutout as the Giants beat the Orioles 8-0. Royals slugger Chris DeVito hit three homers in a 13-2 win over the Athletics.
