September 26th-October 2nd

September 26th, 2025: The Dodgres clinched the NL West today. At 89-67, they have a 6.5 game lead over Arizona, and will return to the playoffs. Since 2013, they've made the playoffs every time except 2022 and 2023.

We started the final road series of the year at Wrigley Field, with Jake Florence (10-10, 3.66 ERA, 1.31 WHIP) taking on Ricardo Sanchez (7-9, 3.99 ERA, 1.26 WHIP). We got 3 insurance runs in the 9th to win the first of three 6-1.

Florence piched well, 6 innings wiht 7 hits, a run, 2 walks, and 6 strikeouts. Enresto Estrella, Chasen Shreve, and Hyo-Jin Yaung got holds before we ran away with the game. Dylan Cease struck out the side in the 9th.

Isaac Nunez was 1-for-4 with a sac-fly and two run homer. Thomas Dillard was 2-for-3 with a walk, 2 runs, a solo homer, and a double. Cole Roederer was 2-for-4 with a double, run scored, and 2 RBI's. Deshawn Hardamon was 2-for-5.

September 27th, 2025: Indians righty Cole Wilcox tore his labrum and may miss the start of next year. He was 8-10 with a 4.81 ERA in 32 starts.

We officially can defend our title, and will head to the postseason for the fifth straight season. We sit three games behind the Braves, but have a 4 game lead for homefield in the Wild Card game.

We need to keep winning, and Jordan Montgomery (1-1, 5.40 ERA, 1.80 WHIP) took on Florencio Serrano (7-13, 5.03 ERA, 1.32 WHIP). It was a close one, but we edged them 4-2.

Montgomery went just 4.1 innings, allowign 4 hits, 2 runs (1 earned), 2 walks, and he struck out 5. Shoehi Ohtani tossed 2.1 innings with 5 strikeouts to get the win. Estrella and Yaung got holds before Jorge Moya got his 35th save of the year.

Jake Taylor got his first hit of his career, and was 2-for-4 with a double and run scored. Seth Beer was 2-for-4 with a two rnu homer. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was 2-for-5 with a solo homer. Both guys did make errors though.

September 28th, 2025: Max Marusak re-joined the roster as we looked to finish the road sweep with Walker Buehler (8-7, 2.72 ERA, 1.07 WHIP) taking on Carlos Salazar (6-5, 3.39 ERA, 1.36 WHIP). The Cubs got three in the 8th and we had to put the brooms away in a 4-2 loss.

Buehler went 7, allowing 2 hits, a run, and he struck out 6. For some reason, Moya came in during the 8th, and allowed 3 runs off 2 hits and 2 walks while recording just 2 outs (strikeout and ground out).

Isaac Nunez was 2-for-3 with a double, steal, walk, and run scored. Seth Beer was 1-for-4 with a double and run scored. Thomas Dillard was 1-for-3 with a walk and RBI.

We finish the season with a four game series at home against the Reds. We'd see Bobby Stiles (7-14, 4.89 ERA), Dennis Santana (7-12, 4.45 ERA), Zach Davies (8-8, 4.37 ERA), and Alan Taylor (4-8, 4.93 ERA).

September 29th, 2025: I designated Max Marusak for assignment to make room for Luis Delgado, who was activated from the 60 Day DL. He came over in the trade with the Mets.

We dropped to 5th in the Power Rankings, despite our 93-65 record.

The Seattle Mariners clinched the AL West today. At 88-71, they have a 4 game lead over the Astros and will represent the West for the second straight year.

The Tigers and Padres made a late season trade. The Padres sent RHP's Felix Jorge and Jim Anderson to the Tigers for LF Rodolfo Andrafe and RF Judson Fabian. I like this deal for the Padres.

The opener saw Mike Soroka (11-10, 3.07 ERA, 1.13 WHIP) duel Bobby Stiles (7-14, 4.89 ERA, 1.55 WHIP), although we basically need to win every game to even have a chance to win the division. Chances are, this series will be rather meaningless. They edged us 3-2, and that's not the start we needed.

Soroka went 5, allowing 8 hits, 2 runs, a walk, and he struck out 3. The rest of the pen pitched 4 innings, with 3 hits, a run, 2 walks, and 4 strikeouts.

Juan Ramriez was 2-for-4 with a double, triple, and RBI. Seth Beer was 1-for-3 with a walk and RBI. Lazaro Armenteros was 1-for-4 with a steal and run scored.

September 30th, 2025: Blue Jays righty Arturo Lara is having surgery to remove bone chips in his elbow, and he may miss the start of next year. The former 16th Rounder was 1-0 with a 3.07 ERA in 14.2 innings.

The Minnesota Twins have clinched a playoff spot. At 91-63, they have a 3 game lead over the Royals. This is their 4th consecutive season with a playoff birth.

The Houston Astros, however, were not as lucky, and they were eliminated from postseason contention. At 84-75, they are 4 games behind the Mariners. This is their 2nd straight year missing the playoffs, after they made it every year from 2017-2023.

And sadly, the Braves clinched the division. At 97-62, they have a 4 game lead over us. I might have to play them in the NLDS too...

I wanted to win enough to have the 2nd best record in baseball, and Steve Paustian (8-6, 4.16 ERA, 1.47 WHIP) took on Dennis Santana (7-12, 4.45 ERA, 1.21 WHIP). We crushed them, scoring 6 in the 6th in a 10-4 rout.

Paustian tossed 5 innings, allowing 4 hits, 3 runs, 4 walks, and he struck out 6. Greg Walston got the win with a perfect 6th inning. A.J. Labas got a 3 inning save, allowing 2 hits, a run, a walk, and a strikeout.

Deshawn Hardamon was 2-for-4 with a solo homer and 3 total runs. Lazaro Armenteros was 2-for-4 with 2 runs, 2 RBI's, and 2 doubles. Thomas Dillard was 2-for-4 with a two run homer. Devante Brown was 2-for-3 with a hit by pitch, 2 runs, and 3 RBI's. Seth Beer was 2-for-3 with a pair of walks and an RBI. Shoehi Ohtnai was 1-for-4 with a run scored and steal.

October 1st, 2025: Nationals lefty Jerrod Eaddy will miss at least the beginning og 2026, as he fracture his elbow. He was 2-1 with a 3.94 ERA in 16 innings.

Lots of playoff news: The Rays clinched the East, the Twins the Central, the Cubs the Central, and the Brewers were eliminated. All these teams have a worse record then me...

With a win here, or a Twins loss, we will have clinched the 2nd best record in all of baseball, good for 2nd place in the NL East...

Jake Florence (11-10, 3.58 ERA, 1.32 WHIP) battled Zach Davies (8-8, 4.37 ERA, 1.53 WHIP) in game 151. It was a close one, but they edges us 3-2.

Florence went 6, allowing 4 hts, 2 runs, a walk, and he struck out 8. Moya got the loss, allowing a solo shot in the 9th, dropping to 3-10 on the year. He's awful in non-save situations...

Vlad Jr. was 1-for-4 with a solo homer. He got his 40th homer, but needs 4 RBI's to get 100 on the year. Shoehi Ohani was 2-for-3 with a solo homer and a walk.

The Twins lost too, but I didn't realize the Dodgers have 93 wins, so they could tie me. Dang it...

October 2nd, 2025: I outrighted Max Marusak to AAA.

We finished the season with Jordan Montgomery (1-1, 4.76 ERA, 1.72 WHIP) taking on Alan Taylor (4-8, 4.93 ERA, 1.59 WHIP). Jr. isn't in the lineup, so unless a pinch hit grand slam is in the cards, he won't reach 100. We also didn't score 4, and lost the last game of the regular season 3-2. The Reds beat us three out of four, at home...

Oh yeah, and Montgomery (back to 3.5) left with a mild calf strain, but he should be fine for the playoffs. He went 3.1 innings with a hit, walk, and 3 strikeouts.

Kenyon Yovan got the loss, 1.1 innings with 3 hits, 2 runs, a walk, and 2 strikeouts. Dylan Cease tossed 1.2 innings with 2 hits, a run, a walk, and a strikeout. Chasen Shreve struck out the side in the 9th.

Deshawn Hardamon was 1-for-3 with a double and run scored. Juan Ramirez and Seth Beer were both 1-for-4 with doubles. Caleb Balgaard was 1-for-2 with a run scored and base on balls.

The Dodgres won, so we are tied for the 2nd best record in baseball. And we have to play a play in game...

Phillies 1B Xavier Carter launced a three run homer ina 6-5 win over the Rockies.

Well, at least we made it! We'll face the Mets in the Wild Card game!
