Spring Training
February 26th, 2026: Today Spring Training starts, and I made my callups.
February 27th, 2026: The Orioles signed LHP Kyle McGrath to a 1-year, $3,280,000 contract. The veteran has pinpoint control, which leads to his impressive 1.7 career BB/9. He owns a 3.52 ERA and 1.09 WHIP in 539.2 innings with 511 strikeouts in 539.2 innings.
February 28th, 2026: The Rockies signed SS Orlando Arcia to a 1-year, $5.2 million contract. The longtime Brewer has a career .278/.323/.447 triple slash with 177 homres and 550 RBI's.
March 6th, 2026: The Mets signed C Wilson Contreras to a 1-year, $2,520,000 contract. The catcher is a career .261/.341/.436 hitter with 160 homers and 565 RBI's, alhtough he hasn't had a really good season since 2022.
March 7th, 2026: The Orioles lost recently signed RHP David Paulino for the year with a torn labrum. He hasn't pitched more then 40 innings in the majors since 2022, the only season he did.
March 11th, 2026: The Astros sent RHP Forrest Whitley to the Rockies for CF Jeren Kendall. I like this deal for the Rockies, considering part of WHitley's contract is being retained.
March 14th, 2026: Juan Ramirez is headed to the DL for about 6 weeks with a fractured thumb. He was supposed to be my starting LF this year...
March 16th, 2026: I signed former Marlin LF Lewis Brinson to a minor league deal, with the intent of using him on the big league roster.
The Braves signed 38-year-old Grant Dayton to a 1-year, $2.4 million contract. Still useful, he owns a career 3.41 ERA and 1.11 WHIP in 622.2 innings.
March 17th, 2026: The Yankees lost SP Hunter Greene for the year with a torn UCL. He's a career 42-39 with a 4.22 ERA and 1.32 WHIP in 673.2 innings. He also hits a bit, and last year he hit .299/.356/.492 with 3 homers and 9 RBI's in 67 at bats.
March 21st, 2026: Toronto RF Nelson Velasquez is out for the year with a torn ACL. The 27-year-old is a career .233/.307/.467 hitter with 69 homers and 197 RBI's.
March 22nd, 2026: I'm down anouther outfielder, as LF Lazaro Armenteros is headed to the DL with a strained hamstring. He'll miss about 8 weeks.
March 30th, 2026: With Spring Training ending, I'm making my final roster cuts.
March 31st, 2026: The Mets have lost LHP Luis Marrero for the year with a torn ulnar collateral ligament. After being one of the most dominant pitchers in the league, the now 34-year-old is coming of a career worst season that saw him demoted to the bullpen.
They then and went to sign former Marlin Chasen Shreve to a 1-year, $2.6 million contract. "Shrever" is a career 50-29 reliever with a 3.90 ERA and 1.21 WHIP in 693 innings with 967 strikeouts.
