So Okereke will get some starts.

- Maddox Sweetland went 2-3 in a 15-2 loss today. The 2 hits extended his hitting streak to 25 games.
- Bears star Mike Lloyd took home the NL Sandy Koufax award in 2006 going 16-3 2.83. Since then Mike has made 7 starts and 37 relief appearances totaling 54 innings. After over a year off to repair a rotator cuff issue, he was told today he will undergo another procedure to repair the cuff again. The 31-year-old moved to a closer's role this year to lighten the innings load. He's in year 4 of a 7 year 44.2 million dollar deal signed after the 2006 season. He has a player opt out after this year but most think that's now a foregone conclusion as he won't pitch until mid-2010 at the earliest.

- San Diego Closer Erick Riley (8-7 30 SV 4.34) will miss the next year + after being diagnosed with a torn rotator cuff. The 24-year-old was the Missions 1st round pick (30th overall) in 2006
- Chicago SP Zaire Nibbs will miss the rest of 2009 to undergo labrum surgery, He'll miss the next 6-8 months. He was 9-3 4.38

- Josh Mutschler (MEM) struck out 5 and gave up 5 hits in a 3-0 win over Alaska. He's 13-12 4.29
- Joe Linn (MIN) threw his 1st career shutout scattering 9 hits and striking out 9 in the Huskies 2-0 win over St Louis.
- RJ Stanton had 17 strikeouts in 8 innings in Chicago's 4-1 win over Denver. It was the 9th time in his career he's punched 15 or more and the 4th time he's struck out 17 or more.
