END OF THE REGULAR SEASON
Two races left. The NL East where the Jets trail Pittsburgh by 1.5 games and the NL West where San Diego has overtaken LA by 1 game. The East race is to decide winner/wild card, the west loser goes home. Washington takes on Buffalo in the seasons final 4 games with a DH starting tonight.
Also in the race for his Triple Crown Joe Vertz has seen his lead in the batting race shrink to .002. He leads Milwaukee's Sam Deaton .341 to .339. He also leads Chad Mohr 128 to 123 in the RBI race.
Over in the NL Dave Manzer .337, Jarod Bodkin .336 and TJ Rand .334 will go at it over the seasons final 3 games.
RESULTS:

- San Diego lost to Texas while the Storm won so they are tied for the NL West lead. Pittsburgh won and Washington swept their DH so the Jets are 1 behind with 2 to play.
- Joe Vertz went 1-4 and Sam Deaton took a 0'fer so Vertz leads .341-.337. However, Chad Mohr hit a grand slam to close the RBI race to 129 to 127.
- We are only allowing our starters to play through 5 innings in the last couple days to keep them fresh and avoid any injury situations. The final game we will start almost an entire lineup of backups.

- Joey Vertz pretty much locked up the Triple Crown as he went 3-4 (.344) 2B (26) HR (51) and drove in 3 (132).
- Pittsburgh lost 12-5 to San Francisco and Washington beat Buffalo 5-1 to make the NL East a tie. Loser has to play in the WC game.
- Texas beat San Diego 3-1 and LA was beaten by Austin 6-4 so the division is tied heading into the final day. LA has Dwain Milazzo starting.
- 9/30: FLA 6 BRK 2 “Johnny Allstaff” pitched this game. 7 arms got an inning or two of work. Grab W (7-5) Weller POTG 4-5 2B (1) HR (1) 2 RBI (2) Makowski 3-4 2B (9) HR (2) RBI (9)
- The Miners and Jets will have a 1 game playoff to determine the NL East winner as both won yesterday. San Diego won, LA lost so the Missions win the West and LA goes home.
- Joey Vertz took home the AL Triple Crown with a .343-51-132 season and former Tarpon TJ Rand won the NL Batting title at .340 to top Jarod Bodkin's .337.
