Former Tarpon TJ Rand wins the NL Batting Title. Sam Ginn, former Tarpon, had a fantastic year closing for Ohio, the one team I'd prefer NOT to face in the playoffs.
The LA collapse was truly one for the ages. They were 47-30 on July 1st and went 34-51 the rest of the way capped off by a franchise record worst 7-20 September.
San Diego was 35-42 on the 1st of July and would go 47-38 the rest of the way. Not bad but certainly not some dominant 2nd half. They came from 12 games back with leagues 11th ranked offense and 6th ranked pitching staff. Truly a team effort.
I'd like to think there's some suspense to some awards but it appears Vertz and Leith McNayr are runaway MVP's with seasons of 8.2 and 8.3 WAR.
