When I used to read Orcins dynasty I would get to the postseason and set it up so I couldn't see the entire post, but would read it line by line to create some suspense and it made it a ton of fun. To that end, I have created a summary sort of in that manner so if you want to you can read about the game before knowing how it ends.
Ohio – Rone (19-9 3.98) @ Florida – Pollock (16-5 3.10)
Ohio sent 8 men to the plate in a 4 run second inning. Pollock would get into the 7th before tiring and leave the game down 5-2. At 5-3 entering the 9th Arturo Mendoza led off with a single. He was 3-4 on the day. Cummings would come in to pinch run and Juan Renovato would battle through a 12 pitch AB and line a single to left on a 3-2 count.
Harland Daig, with the count 0-2 slapped a ground ball to the right side that squeaked through to load the bases with no one out.
Juan Flores hit a grounder to the right side, Cummings scored and Daig was forced out at 2B. 5-4 1 out.
Funicello would hit a grounder to a drawn-in infield, and be forced at first.
Cortezo was intentionally walked to load the bases and DJ Adams would come in to PH for Makata Hayashi.
On a 1-1 pitch he hit a grounder in the hole to left, Renovato scored and Flores ran through a stop sign and with the game 5-5 and two outs Flores was thrown out at the plate to put the game into extras.
The 9th inning rally all happened vs former Tarpon closer Sam Ginn.
Ernesto Galindo took over in the 8th with 1 out and managed to dodge a litany of bullets almost every inning as he went 3.2 giving up 3 hits, 2 walks and 2 K's but no runs.
Jake Grab worked 2 hitless innings.
In the bottom of the 14th, General Reliever Jon Harris was working into his 5th inning. A 2 out infield single by Hallamore brought up Leith Bursey. On a 0-2 count, he would take a fastball to the bleachers in dead center for a 2 run walk off home run!
Soon to be AL MVP Joey Vertz was 0-6 with a walk and 3 K's. Sergio Robles was 3-7 2B (1) 2 CS
Bursey took POTG honors going 4-7 2B (1) HR (1) 2 R 2 RBI (2) Jose Flores was 4-7 2B (1) HR (1) and 2 RBI (2)
